The CCTV installation captures video images of individuals in monitored areas but does not conduct audio recordings.
5. Purpose and Legal Basis
The purpose of the CCTV installation for Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH is to ensure security, protect property and secure evidence in the event of criminal prosecution. The CCTV installations are only located in areas whose surveillance is necessary for this purpose. This does not restrict the personality rights of visitors and employees.
The legal basis in line with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR is the legitimate interest in protecting assets and individuals.
6. Storage Duration
Video recordings are retained for 12 days, unless required for investigative purposes.
7. Data Subject Rights
Pursuant to Articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR, data subjects have the:

8. Miscellaneous
For all personal data captured via the CCTV system:
- a. No transfers of personal data outside the EU/EEA are carried out.
- b. No automated decision making or profiling occurs.
- c. Robust access controls and security measures are in place to protect video recordings and prevent unauthorized access.
- d. A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) has been completed to ensure compliance with GDPR and to minimize potential risks.
