This year, 16 apprentices and students on integrated degree programs joined the company. During the orientation week in September, the apprentices took part in activities such as a team-building event in Mannheim.

On September 14, 2026, 16 apprentices embarked on their careers with the company, including several former high-school student interns.
High Demand for Apprenticeship Slots at Caterpillar Energy Solutions
This year, the company again received many applications for its apprenticeship offers. The apprenticeships in mechatronics and business administration are especially popular. A total of 16 apprentices secured an apprenticeship or integrated degree program slot at Caterpillar Energy Solutions.
September saw the kick-off for three students on integrated degree programs, two apprentices in business management, two in warehousing, four in industrial mechanics, and five in mechatronics. Some apprentices had already gotten to know the company as high-school student interns and subsequently decided to begin their careers at Caterpillar Energy Solutions.
Team-Building Event in Forest Bird Park in Mannheim
During the orientation weeks, the new students and apprentices were briefed in workplace safety, etiquette, and sustainability. The program also included a factory tour. During this intensive orientation phase, the new apprentices also had the opportunity to get to know the apprentices from previous years. Currently, the Mannheim location has about 50 apprentices.
A special highlight of the orientation weeks was a team-building event at the Karlstern Bird Park in Mannheim. Together, the apprentices built new wooden benches for a Palatinate Forest Association and helped with repair work at the bird park.
In addition to the varied program, there was also plenty of time for everyone to get to know one another in a relaxed setting. During lunch breaks spent together, the apprentices and training managers were able to exchange ideas. This helped the new apprentices to tune in to their professional career.
