Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH has appointed Gunter Steinmann to its management effective February 1, 2026. Steinmann has been with the company since 2010 and brings extensive international leadership experience to his new role.

Since February 1, 2026, the management of Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH has been made up of Johan Masse, Peter Körner, and Gunter Steinmann. Steinmann has been one of the company’s key leaders for many years. He played a key role in advancing the global service business, delivering measurable gains through his dedicated efforts.
When Steinmann joined Caterpillar Energy Solutions on October 1, 2010, he was initially responsible for the national service business as Head of Service Germany. From 2018 to 2024, he was Service Manager MWM Direct Business (EAME), and since 2024, Steinmann has been Global Service Director for the MWM brand. In addition to his broad professional qualifications, Steinmann brings many years of international leadership experience to his new role as Managing Director.
What fascinates Steinmann most about the energy and engine industry is the diversity of its customers. “From biogas producers to airports, all customers need outstanding products from our product segment to meet their energy needs”, says Steinmann. “The gas engine sector is particularly exciting because only few people truly possess this level of expertise.” To support customers in the best possible way, Steinmann draws on his many years of experience in the service business as well as a broad professional network.
Growing Demand for Distributed Energy Supply in Growth Markets
Steinmann believes that renewable energies will have the greatest impact on the industry in the coming years. “Renewable energies continue to gain ground, but they need stability”, says Steinmann. “Distributed energy supply will also play an important role in many regions. Especially growth markets like Africa and South America are seeing a growing demand for distributed energy solutions. In addition, global energy demand continues to grow, e.g. for IT infrastructure and other emerging industries.” For Steinmann, the top priorities right now are the sustainable expansion of renewable energy and the flexibility needed to compensate for energy deficits under consideration of specific dependencies.

Apart from a wide range of support services, customers need a partner who offers reliable solution concepts. “We don’t just supply generators, we also support our customers with digital solutions to help them optimize operating costs”, explains Steinmann. “Basically, we offer everything a customer needs to be successful.”
In his new role as Managing Director, Steinmann believes in the importance of openness and a good corporate culture. “Since the safety of our employees is my top priority, I want every employee to go home healthy every day” emphasizes Steinmann. “Having been with the company for many years, I can say with confidence that we have a strong and adaptable team, which allows me to take on this responsibility with ease.”
Gunter Steinmann joined the management of Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH on February 1, 2026. He has been with the company since 2010 and is looking forward to the challenges of his new position.
