Caterpillar Energy Solutions has already supported the research of the Pediatric Oncology unit of the University Medical Center Mannheim (UMM) for several years. At the turn of 2019, the Mannheim-based gas engine manufacturer increased the amount of its yearly donation from €10,000 to a total of €15,000. The donation is used for researching brain metastases of pediatric carcinoma.

On behalf of Caterpillar Energy Solutions, Managing Director Peter Körner, Marketing Manager Dr. Fernando Cantú, and Communication Frank Fuhrmann handed the €15,000 check to PD Dr. med. Michael Karremann, Senior Physician of the Pediatric Clinic, and Prof. Dr. med. Horst Schroten, Director of the Pediatric Clinic of the UMM.

Handover of the donation of Caterpillar Energy Solutions to the Pediatric Oncology unit of the Mannheim University Hospital (UMM).

The Pediatric Clinic is part of the Pediatric Center of the University Medical Center Mannheim. Apart from leukemia, brain tumors are among the most common types of cancer in children and youths. “With our donation, we would like to contribute to the treatment of pediatric carcinoma”, said Peter Körner when handing over the donation check. After all, success in this area cannot be achieved overnight, but requires patience and commitment.
