Last year, Caterpillar Energy Solutions organized a donation run at multiple locations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the MWM brand. The event filled the collection box with €10,000.

Stefan Neundörfer had a special idea for his personal run. “To celebrate the big MWM anniversary, I ran a route in the form of the number 150 on the map around the company at the Mannheim location”, explains the Caterpillar Energy Solutions employee. Neundörfer completed the “Anniversary Route” of almost 11 km (6.8 mi) in one hour and nine minutes.

Donations for Children’s Hospice “Sterntaler” and “Anpfiff ins Leben” Association

The great donation run was organized digitally. More than 100 runners from six countries and nine Caterpillar Energy Solutions locations participated in the run. Together, they completed more than 1,000 km (620 mi). A total of €6,800 were collected in this way. To fill the collection box, the management of Caterpillar Energy Solutions rounded the amount to €10,000. The employees in Germany and other countries voted which two of four organizations were to receive the donation. The winners were two Mannheim-based associations: Kinderhospiz Sterntaler e.V. and Anpfiff ins Leben e.V., which promotes the athletic development of children, youths, and amputees. An amount of €5,000 was donated to each of the two associations.

“It is really impressive to see how many colleagues on three continents took part in the race and the vote in order to collect money for charity”, says Aljoscha Kertesz, Manager Communications at Caterpillar Energy Solutions and co-initiator of the donation run. “This donation campaign was made possible by the strong bond that has been shown to exist between the employees despite the pandemic.”

Financial Support of Pediatric Cancer Research and Christmas Gifts for Children’s Homes in the Region

Caterpillar Energy Solutions supports various institutions in Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar region. For many years, for example, the company has been supporting the Pediatric Oncology unit of the University Center Mannheim (UMM). The yearly donations are used for pediatric cancer research. In the context of the internal gift campaign “Wish Tree”, two Caterpillar Energy Solutions apprentices delivered gifts for the children at the children’s home St. Josef in Käfertal and the Schifferkinderheim in Seckenheim.
