For many years, Caterpillar Energy Solutions has been promoting the work of the Pediatric Oncology unit of the University Medical Center Mannheim with donations at the turn of the year. A check worth €15,000 was again handed over to support the research and treatment of children and youths who have cancer.

On behalf of Caterpillar Energy Solutions, Managing Director Peter Körner and Frank Fuhrmann of the Marketing department handed over the check. Michael Karremann (Senior Physician of the Pediatric Clinic), and Frank Fuhrmann (Marketing Manager, Caterpillar Energy Solutions).

The Pediatric Oncology unit is part of the Pediatric Clinic of the University Medical Center Mannheim. The donation will go into a research project investigating the biological mechanisms that enable the entry of cancer cells into the central nervous system. In cooperation with immunologists, ways of promoting the access of tumor-specific immune cells to the central nervous system are being researched. “With our donation, we hope to make a contribution to this important research project”, says Peter Körner, Managing Director.
