In December, Peter Körner, Managing Director of Caterpillar Energy Solutions, and Aljoscha Kertesz, Manager Communications & PR, presented the symbolic donation check to PD Dr. Matthias Dürken, Acting Head of the Pediatric Clinic, and Prof. Dr. Michael Karremann, Senior Physician of the Pediatric Clinic. “We are eager to contribute to medical research and support young patients at this location”, explained Peter Körner, Managing Director of Caterpillar Energy Solutions. “The work of the Pediatric Oncology unit at the UMM never ceases to impress us, and we are delighted to be able to support these important developments with our donation.” The donation of €20,000 goes toward an important research project on immunotherapy for tumors of the central nervous system. The objective of the project is to develop new therapeutic approaches in order to further improve the treatment of young patients.

“For many years, Caterpillar Energy Solutions has been one of our most loyal and generous supporters”, said PD Dr. Matthias Dürken, Acting Head of the Pediatric Clinic. “Without the support we have received, we would not be where we are today with our research efforts in immunotherapy for brain tumors. We are very pleased and a little proud to know that we have such an important and strong partner in Mannheim, right on our doorstep, in Caterpillar, who trusts us and is once again donating such a considerable amount of money for the next steps.”
